Community Health Workers

Who are Community Health Workers?

Community Health Workers (CHWs) act as the “bridge” between rural residents and health facilities by offering timely suggestions from doctors, and strongly encouraging people to see a doctor for serious medical concerns.

We are focusing on these health personnel for an MHealth intervention, because our partners have identified CHWs as central to the delivery of healthcare for rural communities that are typically isolated from consistent health services in India.
